Westfield | Valley Fair (2017)
Santa Clara, CA
Westfield – Valley Fair Mall is a 1.89MWdc/1.44MWac solar PV project comprised of two carports over parking stalls at the Westfield Mall – Valley Fair in Santa Clara, CA . The Northwest Parking Structure’s system is 968kWdc/750kWac and interconnects with the utility PG&E. The Northeast Parking Structure’s system is 918.5kWdc/690kWac and interconnects with Silicon Valley Power. In December of 2016 Sustineo executed an EPC agreement with Westfield Eco, Inc. for delivery of the system in 2017.
The project has modules attached with a fixed tilt on T-cantilevered steel structures fastened to the top level of the parking decks. The DC side of the system is comprised of 275W monocrystalline modules operating at 1000V leading into 30kW string inverters. This project is unique because there are two points of interconnection with two different utilities from the same property.
Sustineo provided full-scope turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction of the two systems. This project falls inside Sustineo’s geographic territory where it self-performed the mechanical and electrical scopes of the project. Construction began in March of 2017, with final completion and hand-off to the owner in September of 2017.
